Even more messed up...

Hehe...scroll down until you find the post titled "Ghosts!" That's the newest one...things just got a little funny.

Friends

Every weekend I tell myself I am going to stay home, focus on my homework and rest. Yet every weekend I find myself doing something-or-other with my friends. Typically we go to the movies, Sergi's or go bowling...blowing our money on an hour of fun. This weekend however, instead of spending money on fun, I stayed home with some extremely fun girls and watched movies for hours. It's weird how in school everyone has a certain group of people they like to hang out with. Whenever we hear that "the crew" wants to hang out, we're automatically there. But last night, it was different. Last night, it was girls night...hehe. We watched movies (on much scarier than I would have selected), one very funny, and one that we didn't pay attention to while we talked about anything and everything. Needless to say my voice was happy to have a rest when we all decided to fall asleep. We watched movies, talked until we couldn't any more and laughed so hard that our stomachs hurt. These are the times I love with friends. They are the best.
Now, tonight, I find myself and this kid's house watching one of the same movies I watched last night. It's ok however, because I'm doing my homework while we watch it. These are some amazingly awesome cool kids.
Friends are amazing. :-]

A slight mess-up...

Just so everyone knows, things got a little messed up...the most recent blog would be the fifth one down...titled "Ghosts!". I'll try to fix whatever I did.

The Longest Week of School Ends with Goodbye

Well, we all made it through our first and longest week back to school without too much trouble. Honestly this week has felt so normal that it feels like we never had a break. Nevertheless...our hands are tired of writing, our brains are sick of thinking, and drama is once again flooding our teenage lives. Our little community is flooding with gossip and all of the craziness we experienced two weeks ago.
Not only have these factors of our lives returned, but also many of our attitudes. Christmas seems to bring a light-hearted attitude. Friends get along. We go out of the way to do nice things for others. We eat cookies together in all our classes. And, we find ourselves in a happier and brighter place where everything is well and everyone gets along.
The after-Christmas period however, seems to be a time of frustration in school. Kids go back to treating others as if they don't care what is happening with them and they neglect how they may feel towards certain situations. The overall tone of school this week was by far one of the dullest there has been in a while.

Today started out differently than all the rest of the days this week. I typically roll out of bed about fifteen minutes after my alarm attempts to wake me from my sleep. I then proceed in doing all the necessary things to get ready for school, eat breakfast, hop in the car, and off I go. But today was special. Today a dear friend left for Germany and will be there for the next eight months. So, as my alarm began to ring I began the usual roll and as it hit me that Louissa would be leaving I jumped up and ran to shower. I speedily got ready (so as to have enough time to visit her before school) and as I went downstairs to get my breakfast my mom informed me that my dad had taken my car today...leaving me to ride the bus and with no time to go visit Louissa.
And then, miraculously, I thought of something! Alexis was going in to school late because she was going to visit Louissa as well, and reluctantly, m

Taking a Sick Day

Today as all the rest of my friends are in school, I am at home on my couch with a big box of tissues. I think this may be the first day I've taken off from school for being sick in at least two years. I may take days off for school field trips, but not for being sick.
But anyway, this past weekend Alexis and Justine came over to make some Christmas cookies!! Yes it may be two weeks after Christmas, but Justine goes to her mom's in Pennsylvania for Christmas and decided this year we just had to make cookies when she came home. Any way, they tunred out very good and we ate a whole bunch of them. Then we ended up going to bed because we felt so sick from eating too many.
Well, I've been away from the couch long enough. Hopefully I fall asleep now.

My Bathroom and ABBY!!!

As I sit here contemplating whether or not to do my homework, two wonderful people are here working on our bathroom. By tomorrow my bathroom will be...dun dun dun...out of order. However, we'll have a new shower! Yay! Hehe...I'm kind of excited.
Well, not too much has been going on lately, everything is very calm. Umm...I went to Ottawa though! I saw this amazing girl and we had lots of fun. She even bought me some hot chocolate :-] I miss her very much, and plan on making numerous visits from now on!

Ghosts!

Hmmm...today wasn't so bad. I thought for sure the teachers would pile on the homework for the weekend to get off on the right foot for the new marking period, ya know. However this weekend I find myself with no homework whatsoever. This is great...I can do something and not worry about the homework I'm not doing.
While the school day offered nothing really of interest, when I got home I was delighted to have a conversation with the people working on our bathroom. They're very nice and very funny people. Today we found ourselves talking about those silly sounds you hear in the middle of the night or even in the day. One of the guys was telling me about the lady who used to live in this house. He was one of her students and apparently she kept a very tidy lawn...clean of all pieces of cut grass leaving a perfect looking lawn. He then told me that it had been rumored that her ghost still lives in the house, which is funny because this is a story I've heard many times from many people that knew her. As we got to talking they each told stories from when they were younger and their encounters with "ghosts". One of them said he and all of his brothers at different times had approached their mother and told her of this figured they'd seen...with all identical descriptions. We then got talking about the ghost that lives here again, and I told them a few stories myself of incidents with this occupant of our home. She seems to be very friendly. She likes to roam the house at night...walking through the halls, up and down the stairs and even opening the cupboards in the kitchen, looking for a midnight snack. I like to think she's looking out for us, just keeping the house safe and comfortable :-

Back to School

This Christmas break was a fun time for me. It was full of spending some much needed time with friends, but more importantly some much needed time with Him. As I reflected on how the school year has gone so far I found myself thinking...have I really been doing my part? Am I really doing the best I can? And, why is it that more and more kids seem to be drifting away rather than drawing near to Him.
After tonight's prayer meeting I really feel a conviction to let people know what they've been missing. Tomorrow is a new day...and a new chance.
